The World's Most Expensive Car Is In Lebanon?

For those out there who idolize, fantasize and worship cars, there are some good news at last. A Lebanses business man just launched an Arab made car company under the catchy brand name W Mobile. His company will make fancy sport cars by a team of young experts who want to dream.

This project has been seven years in the making, so get excited. Their first car resembles the bat-mobile. The business people sought out other wealth Arabs who share the same passion with them. They made connections in Europe and America, and now they are ready to show of their cars.

They have made 30 cars, 25 of one line and 5 of the other...the cars will be shown in Dubai in December of this year. Those are not your everyday cars, those are made for collectors--diamonds lights.

PHOTO: Anwar El Amir Gives Israel The Middle Finger

Anwar El Amir is a popular singer in Lebanon. He was on a vacation in Greece and saw something from the state of Israel, so he posed next to it and gave it the middle finger. I do not know what's on the back, and I do not think this is an Israeli thing. But the singer did something he felt like doing since he is form Lebanon, a country that has seen and lived the might of the Israeli military.

The singer said he was surrounded by Greek and Jewish tourists and wanted to take the picture. He did not plan it, it just happened. His buddy warned him that it might be misunderstood, but still he wanted to take the picture and he did.

I will not comment further on this picture, love it or hate it. Aside form that the singer has a catch new song out that received a warm welcome in Lebanon and around Arabia, it's below.

Music for Your Flights Landing, Seriously?

If you are like me freak out every time your flight is about to land, then maybe you should check out this album. Soothing music to take your mind off the landing experiences. And this is the third volume of this album franchise.

Only one problem, it might be illegal to operate your music player as the flight lands. It has been almost three years since I flew last time, but I am sure you are still not permitted to operate any electronic devices during the take off and the landing.

I cannot speak about the music collection, I would be lying if I claimed to have heard of those names before, I have not. But listening to some of the music--there's one below I have found some calmness.

Nevertheless, this is a good idea

Fares Karam Survives A Health Scare/ Cancels Concerts

It seems that his heart will go on. Lebanese singer and party favorite was getting ready for a benefit concert in his home Lebanon when he started feeling uneasy in his chest. He called in the doctor and called off the concert. Word on the street Fares is one of the few singers who neglect visiting with doctors, he does not exercise and probably smokes.

Fares Karam is the guy who did a song about smoking hookahs and such. Fares has been really busy lately with concerts all over Lebanon in a number of music festivals. The 37 years old have received well wishes from her peers who took on the social media to share their thoughts on Fares.

His personal guard has been making the media rounds and assuring everyone that Fares Karam is safe and recovering. He did call of few other concerts. He will submit to a number of exams to make sure his heart is stable and that he does not need any serious procedures.

I wish the story ends there, a journalist publishes a press release where he claims Fares Karam did not have any health scare, he was overheard telling his crew he is not feeling well and thus he did not want to perform in the concert--according to the Journalist. The person behind the release resides Dubai and goes by the name Waleed El Husnyah. Further people say they have spotted Fares walking out of the hospital looking fine. I am not a doctor but why did team Fares Karam released sophisticated images of the star inside the hospital. How about some privacy?

The Pious Of Egypt Want To Ban Entertainers "Prostitutes"

Wagdy Ghonim is a moron. He might have some good options and he may as well have some good intentions, but his latest attacks on entertainers is preposterous. The TV preacher is gunning for the entertainers in Egypt. He has issues with people kissing on TV, making out and pretending to be husband and wife.

While, I do agree that some Egyptian movies have nothing to do with entertainment and they are nothing but a sleaze fest. That's no reason for such broad attacks from a guy who things sex is disgusting and intimacy is immoral.  He even does not like tourism. I have a question for him, what other national resources does he have issues with? Such things bring Egypt a lot of money.

The guy watches a lot of movies or it seems--he describes a scene when an actor has a lady's underwear from his pocket. Wagdy hates that and is seems to be mad. I think people like Wagdy and company should attack certain aspects of the entertainment not a broad attacks likes there. I think he can attack people like Al Sabaky who makes dirty movies. But even then, had the people not watched his movies, he would make them no more.

I am seeing a lot of Egyptian entertainers up in arms against such figures and their use of the public ariwaves. While I agree with them, I hate to see the government stepping in to ask Wagdy and others to stop. If the actor has the right to make a movie, the other guy has a right to trash is as well. With one note, no personal attacks on private citizens.

The Sheikh Who Listens To Metal Also Wants To Ban Elissa, Haifa, and Nancy

One religious Sheikh took to Twitter to attack some ladies who like to sing and made a career out of entertainment. Meet Fadel Suliman, a preacher who spreads the message of Islam took an interesting turn when he attacked three lead pop stars. (The story can be read here in Arabic)

Mr. Fadel admitted to liking Hard Metal in his youth he would go to concerts to enjoy this kind of heavy metal rock. However Heavy Metal Rock has a crappy name in Arabia as many marry it to devil worshiping. So the sheikh defended heavy metal and argued that going to concert for Elissa, Hiafa, and Nancy Ajram is closer thing to worshiping Satan.

The religious figure disagrees with people who want to ban Heavy Metal like the calls in Egypt now as some calls have been made to cancel concerts at the El Sawy Culture Wheel (more here). He defends his favorite kind of music yet attacks people for going to female concerts. Fadel belongs to the Muslim brotherhood and has made similar calls in the past about certain female singers. He has even doubled down and attacked other Lebanese songstress like Marwa and Nicole Saba.

Fafel Suliman is a Muslim preacher who comes to the United States and talks about Islam, he has authored a number of books on his religion of choice.

Why is making this case now and why is he only picking on entertainers form Lebanon are my questions.

Zein Shaker Release The First Transgender Arab Song

Zein Shaker is a nobody, but he wanted to be somebody in 5 minutes. To accomplish that he released a song about marrying a girl who turns to be a dude. For starter the song is weird and was made in a no budget. It made waves in Lebanon as people have frowned upon it and upon its strange topic--strange for many Arabs.

The song is hardly entertaining, it does one thing right is increase awareness on the matter, recognizing the existence of an issue is the first step. What do you guys think of the lyrics? I find them basic and so do the beat. Not sure what Zein's next song will be, he might go mainstream this time.

FINALLY: Tamer Hosny Gets Married To Bassma Bousel

The rumors were true, I mean the ones about his romance with Moroccan singer Bassma--she is no career singer she took part of Star Academy season six. This might be the right way to go about making a comeback. Tamer Hosny as a single man has passed his expiration date.

a married Tamer Hosny might imply he is a serious musician who takes his work seriously. He is no longer Mr. single guy out there to get the ladies and seduce them through his romantic--sometimes cheesy songs. Tamer made the news official on his Facebook page through a video that landed there with a quck background story and then comes the wedding news. Tamer worked with the singer and then they have grown fond of one another--he approached her father and asked for Bassma's hand in marriage.

Now, I learned Tamer Hosny has made his marriage official in May of 2012 inside the Egyptian embassy in the United States where Tamer was working on some musical projects. He has kept the news due to the elections in Egypt and the incidents in Rafah. Now he is ready to go public.

Bassma Bousel has done some songs before with Tamer Hosny and ever since they have been romantically linked--something they both denied. But then the Arab Spring took over and the Tamer Hosny meltdown has taken phase. Tamer has not appeared in person to confirm the news, I would question the news until he speaks about it--because he can come out and say someone hacked his Facebook and put the video.

Some critics were never happy with Bassma Bousel for making comments and appearing too vivacious in the music video with Tamer Hosny. I think this goes back to her days at Star Academy where Bassma has rubbed some people the wrong way.

Update: I have confirmed that Bassma was with Tamer Hosny in his February 2012 visit to the United States as he toured and stoppled in places like Washington DC.

Fadl Shaker - Ma Asadeq Teaser / فضل شاكر - ما أصدق

Fadel Shaker has told us he will quit singing, but sol far he has not. We know he does not like Bashar and we also know that he sill performs live. He also goes o prayer and takes pictures with fans there. He has also moved to Qatar with his family where he lives

Since he is now in the Gulf, it's a master of time that he would release a Gulf song, poets in that part of the world pay top dollars for singers to turn their songs into poems. So, it's no surprise that a song by Fadel Shaker is being promoted at the moment.

It's a safe song for Fadel, but from the teaser, the song might be lacking. But it could be that we are only hearing seconds of it. There's a female lady in the music video, and some tourist stuff, but the song seems romantic and poetic. What I do not think it has is energy or originality. But it's too soon to fully know that.

Songs Of War: Torturing Prisoners With Music

I know sometimes, I joke about some music feeling like torture to me. But in reality some government have been using noise of music to break down terrorists. This sounds like a soft form of torture that might give people a giggle. I know the US likes to go to wars with regimes that torture, or at least that's what they say. Torture is wrong.

Word on the street that the US has been using music to torture some of its prisoners of war or suspected terrorists. I have read about this before during the Bush years, and now Aljazeera English has a good report on it, tracking reports that go back to 2003. Sometimes they would let them put headphones one and tie them into a chair making them listen to loud music. Aljazeera interviewed a former guard who cites rock music being used to bug prisoners. Sometimes, they would play two different songs at the same time an dyes, they are English songs.

Christopher Cerf, creator of the children’s program The Electric Company and an award-winning composer who produced the theme song to Sesame Street, told a reporter recently that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) “perverted” his music “to serve evil” by using his most famous composition to torture prisoners at Guantanamo Bay.
Documents made public in 2010 revealed that ten specific torture techniques wererecommended by Bush administration attorneys, although the CIA had proposed 12. Among those rejected were mock burials and prolonged diapering, but among the legal tactics, loud music, threatening prisoners with power drills or guns, physical abuse, simulated drowning and sensory deprivation were all commonly deployed.

The Poor Sudanese Man's Music Video

I have known many Sudanese in my life and have come to appreciate them and their sense of humor. Contrary to what the norm says, they are among the most educated and brightest Arabs you will meet, some of them work all the way in NASA and make world class surgeons in various European capitals.

But this is about the other Sudanese, the ones who like to have fun, even if they are poor and have little talent. A song about a Sudanese who wants to get married because he sees everyone with a wife. The son cries to his father so that he can have a wife. He tried to clam him down.

This is one popular music video that went viral for obvious reasons.

Industrial Music Helps Keep Bats Away In Australia

When The Sydney Royal Botanic Gardens learned that have a huge colony of fruit bats that required the city to take drastic measures. Using Music and noises seemed to work as many of those bats have been seen evacuating the gardens. Just look at the picture to realize how creepy bats can be.

It has been reported that the 5000 of those large creepy creatures were hanging in the trees. I know we have read about music being used as torture, now they use noisy music to fend off attacks form uninvited guests. It's too bad because some folks seems to enjoy the site of gigantic bats.

Over the past 20 years, the bats, also known as flying foxes, have caused extensive damage in the gardens, with more than 28 trees and 30 palms already lost and several hundred more trees and plants damaged, 60 critically. Yeah, hope Sydney is now feeling safe and their trees are better for this music.

What Arabic music would you use to accomplish the same thing? Can you think of one song that could scare the bats away?

Amr Mostafa Starve Himself To Death....Please!

Amr Mostafa or what was once a smart Egyptian composer, musicians and singer now pulling yet another stunt. He announced on Facebook that he will go on a hunger strike until his buddy former dictator Hosny Mubarak gets out of jail. He even asked people to pray for Mubarak.
عمرو مصطفى يضرب عن الطعام لحين الإفراج عن مبارك مصادر مختلفة

Mostafa had had a great relationship with the regime, where he used to do music for their political campaign. He has been against the revolution from day one, released a song for Mubarak's birthday when the former president was in jail. Then he goes on the attacks against everybody that does not carry the last name Mubarak. Mostafa has even threatened to use violence against people who disagree with him. He promised to teach them a lesson.

Now he is so touched to see that justice is now coming to Mubarak, he announced he will not longer eat until his main man Mubarak leaves prison. Amr has asked the human rights groups to document his hunger strike. Some sources conf rim that the singer has put a little weight lately and thus he needed to lose some of it anyway. If you really want o have fun, read the comments on the articles, most commentators are asking him to keep his word and speed up his trip to hell where he can find his man Mubarak. While we do not wish death to anyone, it's funny to see how people are reacting. One reader suggested this way as the best approach to get rid of shallow characters like Amr's.

I think Amr needs to focus on his music career now and do what he has voluntary promised to do--leave the country. He does have a littl girl whom he should think about as he pulls such stunts to support people who would have never cared about him or his family had he been an average citizen.

Jordan Is Ahead Of The Curve With Fads

Beat Box or human jukebox are hot in certain parts of town. But it seems that we are no longer amazed by the combination of strange and cool talent that many young men and women have started to boast about. Jordan got a big group of hip human jukebox and told them to compete against one another in a festival that brought so many young people in one place.

Needless to say there was break dancers too and a lot of bros in saggy clothes. I am guessing if the purpose to make instruments out of a job, then these guys fail. But I am feeling it's something young people do to impress others in their age group.

So all the hip kids from Jordan...20 talents took part of this event between the ages of 16 and 25 years old. Some of those who have been interviewed spoke how people look down on them and mock them. The problem people did not know what to expect and tended to belittle the beat boxers. Lips, tongues, and mouth!

The Awkward Rendition of The Lebanese National Anthem

Assi Hallani thinks he is a hero, a knight, a leader and a fighter. But above all he loves his homeland Lebanon and adores its army. Now Assi is a smart business guy, he has managed to survive in today's crowded music scene. In one of his million appearance for an interview on a Cleanser TV, he broke into character and started singing and humming the Lebanese national anthem.

Assi made it awkward as he broke into the anthem sitting down, only seconds later, he stood up and confused the TV present who played along with this unprovoked rendition...like he has gotten himself the holy spirit. What's intersting though, how simmilar all Arab national anthems are, I do appreciate the Lebanese anthem as it does not speak of a certain leader or king...just the country that we all agree to love and honor.

Madonna To Auction Off Her Memorabilia In Dubai

Madonna to auction her belongings in Dubai. Why not and the world's sleaziest tax dodgers call it home. Making Dubai a very fine city a capital for white collar criminals and people who lack a culture of their own so they go on and buy themselves one.

Madonna has so many concerts and she does them often, but if you want more of her, there are 50 items that Madonna has wore or used during her reign of world's pop of 3o years. As you can tell, the items are being sold by some American or British company who figured they can make some money in Dubai selling some celebrities trash. The English speakers who gave the interview seem to know what they will do....$2000 and $600,000 a piece.

Keep in mind Madonna who is a die hard fan of the state of Israel and a supporter of that state will have a concert in Dubai and most concert goers will overlook that little details about this diva's political stands on a state that has brought so much pain to the Arab people, a state that has assassinated people in Dubai itself..

Qatar Denies Lebanese Singer Melhim Zain A Visa

The charming Lebanese singer Melhim Zain just got denied entry into Qatar. Melhim has performed many times in Qatar before where he has many fans in that country. Here's here it gets weird, Qatar has granted all his band members visas to Qatar, but they denied the lead singer Melhim a visa.

The reasons for denying Melhim his visa were political. How so?

Melhim is well known for his support to Bashar Al Assad, the Syrian president. Melhim has said so in a number of interviews he has given and you can conclude he is vocal about this support. Now, Qatar hates president Assad and have been leading the fight against him in the Arab League, the United Nation and most recently with arming rebels. Therefore, Melhim's opinion are not too popular with Qatar. Meanwhile Fadel Shaker, the singer who defied Assad gets to live in a nice home in Doha.

At Mawazine, Fadel Shaker Prays Against Assad

President Assad has many foes and haters around the globe, but none of them is as bizarre as singer Fadel Shaker. This Lebanese singer has been leading the protesters against Bashar Al-Assad in his home in Lebanon. He gave interviews and sang live against the president of Syria. So far Fadel Shaker seems to be main celebrity who is clearly against Assad.

However, in Shaker's latest concert--he said he was quitting, the concert took place in Morocco's biggest concert venue, Mawazine. Fadel appeared and right before he starts singing he asked the concert goers to affirm his prayer by saying Amen! His line was "May God Bring Destruction To Assad", this was a surprise, but it seems that people played along.

As you see from the poster, many people in Morocco protest this festival for other reasons.

Some People Wear A Uniform, Singers Pose In Them

Egyptian entertainers are not the first to take pictures with army personnel, everybody does it. It might be the only safe thing to do when one's army is at war or is under crisis. So take this, two entertainer who are still siding with Mubarak, have taken a trip to a local hospital to visit with local soldiers. Of course cameras had to be there Keep on mind, these Shazza, the singer notorious for her love of Mubarak, and the once gifted composer singer Amr Mostafa who was against the revolution from day one. Needless to say these two singers sit at home, with no work. While many still support the Egyptian army, most are skeptical of their heavy hand. If I was these two singers, I would leave politics aside, and focus on entertainment. The reason we come to know them is because of their music, not because of their political opinions. Amr Mostafa released a song to celebrate Mubarak's birthday....after he has been kicked out.

Number one - Karim Gharbi Badyboy Rap

Tunisians are cool people when they put on their shirts, they are not often thought of as the badass of the Arabic world. So when a bunch of them go to LA and bring back a rap video about thugs, I am quite confused.

This is what Karim Gharbi has done with his Number one rap song. there's some Spanish influence, just in time when Arabs are trying to move up in the world comes this song to drag some people back to places where they are unwelcome. This is the work of a bunch of fobs.

Then the weird even gets weirder when the top composer in the Gulf area Fayez Al Said shows up! What the heck? French and muscle bikes doe snot mix. I do not like the person who did the English vocals.
