WATCH: The Many Girlfriend Of Kathem Al Saher

Iraqi composer singer and now reality TV star Kazem Al Saher is a charmer, he is well known for his touching and epic romantic songs. He has been in the business for 20 plus years and he have had dozens of hits and many great albums. He is not a guy who likes to talk too much about himself in interviews and such he seems like a down to earth guy. But in his music video he holds nothing back, always with gorgeous ladies.

He is a happily married man with a lovely family and a recent grandchild given to him by his older son Wissam. This family man has had many musical collaborations with lead female artists. Sometimes he has loaned them his music, sometimes he would sing with them on stage. Let's take a look at some of his most famous lady muses:

1. Latifa from Tunis, she was the first lady Kathem Al Saher has worked with. He has sang with her and has composed songs for her. She was a huge name and he was starting up his career then. They are best of friends.  كاظم الساهر /البرت هول 1997 / ياقدس

3. Magida El Roumy is a huge star and has sang a number of poems by Syrian poet Nizar Qabbany--the go to guy for many of Kathem's gorgeous songs. Magida wanted to collaborate with Kazem so he gave her one of his best musical work to date--she added it to her 2012 album. 4. Asma Laminawar, then, she was a local singer with a lot of talent. She had the local fame, but on the pan Arab music radar, she was unnoticed. They did a song together in early 2007-2008 and then they performed it on stage in Morocco. It was an instant hit, so Kathem doubled down and did another song with this Moroccan delight in his 2009 album. Hamada Helal and Boushra In A Duet

Hamada Helal is a man, but he feels like a little girl when he stands next to manly funny girl Boushra....it's just the plot of their movie. In reality they are both cool people who have a great success in both music and films. They have shared the screen this year to bring us a comedy about a girly man and a touch chick with a lot of zingers.

As part of the promotional strategy to push the movie out there, Hamada released two songs, one where he walks around in a Sponge Bob outfit and the one you see below a romantic songs with a lot of humor about married life in laymen terms. I see both actors are trying to sneak out a funnier line or some physical humor--it's all for the kids.

The movie is doing very well--third in the box office sales, but it seems like a fun movie that the whole family can enjoy. One thing I do not like, this peasant class in Egypt gets a bad rep in their movie--and so many other movies--they are really good people who are also smart.

Elissa And Her Lovely Boys Live On Stage

You have heard that Elissa is very close to her buddy Lebanese singer Wael Kfoury. They have performed together, appeared together in a number of events and media appearances. Some have even them linked romantically, so there you have it. Elissa has a concert recently in Beruit where Wael Kafoury was in attendance. She tried to get him to sing along her side by doing one of his songs--which they have performed together before. The crowd wanted him too, but Wael did not seem to be in the mode.

Wael polity apologized, Elissa played it cool, and told him as he wishes. She did not finish the song, but she tried to still tease the singer. Later that night, she performed with another young and charming singer who has composed one of her latest songs Ziad Bourji who with love performed a duet with Elissa and both seemed to enjoy their time.

It was a very entertaining concert where Elissa was much more fun and less awkward than people have gotten to be used to. It was her moment in the spotlight after not a great start for the year. Note, the change of outfits by the singer.

Ghada Ragab Speaks In Tongues With "Awey Awey"

She is shy to confess of her love to him, she would write it, but she can never utter the words. This is how this new song by Egyptian diva Ghada Ragab goes. Ghada is one of the fine voices in Egypt, she hast the warmth and the versatility. But producers are not exactly lining up...she went to Lebanon and from there she found her way in Turkey where her new album is being recorded and produced.

Ghada will also sing in Turkish--she can sing in half a dozen of languages. Her Turkish album was applauded by the Egyptian ambassador to Turkey. Not sure why in her latest music video she has so many kids running around. Then hear the song toward the end, you will get some Turkish

Zayn Malik Gets Distracted By Cute Girls In The Audience

That's the obvious news, sugar pop boy band Zayn Malik has confessed that he often gets distracted by the cute girls in the audience. I am sure he is not the only one to have this problem, he is just bold enough to admit it.  

All those young ladies and his fans waving their hands in the air, jiggling around and generally dribbling at the sight of his very existence during One Direction concerts can distract him from hitting his high notes. I am guessing this is a good problem to have. Girls are girls and if anything pop culture has taught us about them is that they like to have fun.

"I can see a cute girl in the audience and get distracted by that,” the Bradford Bad Boi told BOP magazine.

That must be exciting news for all of his young fans, they are being noticed by one of their idols. Niall, Louis and Liam must feel the same way like their band mate.

“It’s nice to have someone who catches your eye in the audience and catches your attention, because then you can kind of sing to her and perform to her a little bit!”

But this is not a big deal to Zayn's girlfriend, Mix singer Perrie Edwards. She told The Sun newspaper: “I just think it’s funny. You have to trust each other. Me and Zayn are really happy. We see each other quite a lot, the only time we don’t is when he’s in America. It’s really hard. But I trust him.” Zayn has attended Perrie most recent performance on the popular game show Red or Black and he was thrilled to hear her perform "Wings" along with her band mates

This seems like a mature relationship that understands the complexity of having a successful business life and a great personal life.

Is Lebanese Singer Elissa Really That Happy?

Elissa gave an interview few days ago where she said, had she wanted to get married, she would have done so a very long time ago. She wishes her latest album to win another world music award--she already has won three titles. Then she spoke about the album being a winner. While most of her fans and critics agree, the album is really sad.

It's too much for the moment when we see death all around  us due to revolutions and what's not. People needed something happy, not 8 tracks of drama breakups and tragedy. Then her concert in Algeria almost got canceled, and not a word was mentioned--we had a leaked photo from the concert for Elissa. But no one wrote much about it.

Elissa is still single by choice--I do not think this is a good thing. She has picked some fights most recently with Haifa Wahbe and Shatha Hassoun. But she has also performed in a Beirut concert. Before she got on the stage Bassem Faghali mocked her on stage--she was cool this time. Among the attendees were Eli Saab- a fashion designer she loves; Wael Kfoury he buddy and pal; Simone Asmar--the guy who discovered her; Siham Shis'asha who has written a number of songs for Elissa; Joumana Abu Eid, the TV personality.

Elissa made a good album, the jury is still out on it. in the concert she had glow, and she showed some serious cleavage. The concert had many surprises including inviting the composer of one of the latest songs in her album. Wael turned down an invitation form Elissa to get up on the stage and do a song with her.

Tell Your Mom! Nadia Moustafa's is BACK

One of the iconic singers from the 80s is a lady with a golden hair Nadia Moustafa. The Egyptian singer who dominated the charts of her time, and has made many people happy including my own mother and mother in law has just released a new song into the world.

I do not know why she has disappeared and why she chose to came out of her retirement, but I am glad she did. Her pal singer Medhat Saleh is still in the business and has not hang her microphone yet. Her comeback song is about not letting the guy get away with a wrong behavior.

The music video tells a love story of two people--models not Nadia. The guy is mean and the lady is full of life. Then comes Nadia who has manged to maintain her good looks. The song has been sang by Assala earlier this year. It was written from the Gulf, a poem of course.

Someone did a great job getting Nadia to do this song, we have missed her voice and her grace. welcome back Nadia. One thing, why have the comments been disabled? I am sure people were saying some mean stuff. The song is a bout a women who will not take it anymore--she leaves the guy and gets in the car with another lady--Nadia Moustafa.

A great song hard to imagine it was written by a dude.

Here's a catch love duet from two young people with a lot of energy and excitement in their voices. Their song is about living the moment and enjoying life, they sound like they are buddies, a cool duet like they do not make them anymore

They come from the land of Egypt, it's an urban song about the new generation and their lifestyles. A song about being free and in love. I do not know if I like some of the things they say in the song, but I like the story line.

About getting a PhD and choosing the right one. As far as their voices, they have the voices made for pop music. They keep is real and a least they do not try to be something they are not. I like the the song flows and how they song gets to you and makes you want to dance.

One Of The Best Song By Saudi Abdelmajid Abdallah

Guys are no senseless cold creature, you just need too make sure that you are worth the trouble. Stability is important ingredient in the makeup of a man because unstable men causes the world to collapse and ruin it for the rest of us.

This why I am grateful for mature singers like Abdelmajid Abdallah, the song of the Kingdom who really gets it. He is better than any therapist through his music. The level of sincerity and emotional doses in his songs beat any romantic out there. He is the ultimate lover who knows how to make a simple love poem into a magical show of conflicting emotions.

Take the song below about the lost love, he is not feeling the love and he senses something is wrong, his loved one has changed on him all of sudden. Distance is dangerous for those romantic and the song plays that part and express such feelings and bittersweet moments when someone does not appreciate what the other brings to the relationship.

Seriously, where has this Abdelmajid gone? I know in my formative years he taught me a lot about love, romance and being loyal.

Love Your Johnny! A Butterfly Vs. A Tank In Egypt

The delicate souls of Egypt had to put up with violence, live ammunition and tear gas because they wanted change and they would not fudge. That might be the inspiration behind new comer Johnny, a new pop singer form Egypt who have just released his song a Tanks and a Butterfly.

My first instinct, this guy is pretty cool. While his voice and style is different than most singers I have heard, I am detecting an influence by Mohamed Mounir style--just a hint. This is meant as a compliment, writing a love song in those circumstance is tough, but I really like the take on the subject.

This is a love story about a couple caught in the midst of violence. The song is about looking forward and dreaming of the day they will get a girl. "Instead of flowers, they gift guns loaded with nightmares." I also approve of the music choice. I hope you find this song something to cheer and that we will welcome a new Egyptian star with the unusual name Johnny....Go Johnny.

The Sizzle: Sandy & Karl Wolf - Awel Marra Atgara'

Canada, Egypt, Beirut, The United Arab Emirates are the places where this music video has been linked--America too if you count the American directer. Sandy wanted to be number one so she reached to a hip star with international recognition.

Together they came for this duet and they are turning the heat on as they look like the perfect happy couple. Karl believed in Sandy's talent so much that he did not charge for his collaboration. His gift to Sandy who is producing the entire album including the duet.

You gotta love the title, The First Time I Dare....props for working up some 3D shots, great club scenes and Karl looks believable.

The music video for Palestinian pop star Diala Ouda has been unleashed, the music video has been ready for over 6 months now, but K Music--the producers and music label just let go of it today. It's a song for Diala's single from an assortment album. I like the European wedding dress Diala Ouda is sporting. But this is only one of the half a dozen bold looks

I remember liking this song, I like the tattoos and the hip and chic look Diala pulled. I think this is a nice intro for the young songstress. She is off to a great start. One more thing, Haitham Nabil composed the song--he is only the coolest singer/composer out there.

I am certain some people out there, would criticize Diala, I think they better stop, she has something to say and she does do just that. She just h append to be from Palestine.

She called the album something of herself, "A Stubborn Soul", that's how the world sees the Syrian diva, and that's how she sees herself. Asala Nassri released her much talked about album of 10 tracks. There's a lot of dreamy romance, pop funk, and blues. But mostly this is supposed to be happy album, a personal one indeed. I love the new package, a new image, and a cool logo with a major media marketing roll-out, I am now thinking Asala is finally joining the online world and leaving nothing to chances.

This is Asala's first mainstream pop album in more than four years now. She is back with fore and a cover album that says, I am still the diva you once knew and I am going nowhere but up. Star Gate produced the album, and Pyramedia is distributing it around. Call is the Asala 100 percent Egyptian album where most of the talent lives in Egypt where Asala now has a home.

This album seems like Asala's lucky charm, she is back in rocking mode like we have known her in the 90s when she mostly worked in Egypt. Asala is showing other Arab women that having a family is not a death sentence  you can have an amazing career and a great loving family too.

This is the album that will move a lot of records this Eid season, because among the many stars who are releasing new albums, Asala has the broadest fan base men and women celebrate her and so do young and older folks.

Moustafa Amar is back with a new movie, the movie will not screen in the Eid season, this is his first movie since 2010--his last movie did not do so well. Moustafa Amar was a box office sensation in the mid 2000, but then things changed and he has not manged (or found) a movie that will make top dollars. Due to conflicting sechduels and maybe tough competition the movie has been delayed until further notice.

"Lahzet Da'ef" is the film's title. I am hoping this latest movie of his will do the trick. The plot seems a bit dated, Amar runs an advertising company and then he finds himself caught in a murder, so he runs for his life and tries to proof his innocence. The movie did start to film in October 2011, but due to a number of production issues, the movie was not finished this May 2012.

We got a teaser of the movies' main song, it carries the title of the movie as well and seems to put Moustafa back in the zone.

Fadel Shaker has told us he will quit singing, but sol far he has not. We know he does not like Bashar and we also know that he sill performs live. He also goes o prayer and takes pictures with fans there. He has also moved to Qatar with his family where he lives

Since he is now in the Gulf, it's a master of time that he would release a Gulf song, poets in that part of the world pay top dollars for singers to turn their songs into poems. So, it's no surprise that a song by Fadel Shaker is being promoted at the moment.

It's a safe song for Fadel, but from the teaser, the song might be lacking. But it could be that we are only hearing seconds of it. There's a female lady in the music video, and some tourist stuff, but the song seems romantic and poetic. What I do not think it has is energy or originality. But it's too soon to fully know that.

If your comeback album of 4 years has only 8 tracks, I think it's safe to say that as a star you might have to ask yourself "Do I still got it it?" Now, we want you all out there to buy original albums, and I know this is not cool when an album that you have been waiting for comes with this number of songs. But to his credit, he did not include any of his many singles he has released on the span of two years.

Now the cat is out of the bag and Lebanese romance/pop singer Wael Kfoury has released his album with Rotana. He has been holding the album for more than two years on the hopes he finds a good distributor. Now the album has landed and I am not disappoint in the material, it's still too early to call those kind of shots, but in the song count.

8 tracks was the right number for cassette albums, not songs on CD. Most opt for 10 to 12 tracks, an 8 and 4 years to make does not tell much. Let's be honest, if a lady wants to be serenaded, she would want Wael to be the guy to do that. He sounds like he has a lot of love and faith to give. Not sure if the guys still think he has the halo he once had, but his fans might tell a different story.

Syrian singer Assala is having the year of her live, she has been rocking this summer music festivals, keeping political blogs active and interested in her opinions and jetting around the world for concerts and engagements.  Then she would release singles, she released three of them so far. And host that popular TV shows of her where she gets to sing with her buddy singers. A duet with Ramy Sabry and a dozen of interviews.

But she has also been working on an album, and we have a stare of art comeback album, her first since 2008--she has released at least on other album but that was in the Gulf Dialect. This upcoming album of hers will have romance, and will have both Egyptian and Lebanese dialect songs--the ones that made her a pop star in the first place. The kind of songs that radiates happy

The album will have ten tracks. Her husband company Star Gate is producing the album and Pyramdia will distribute it around the world. By looking the list of musicians and composers she has worked with, one cannot help but realize hoe serious Assala is about this album of hers. This is the Assalah we love and this is the kind of songs that make the world a better place.

In other news, I just learned that one of the youngest and most promising composers Karim Mohsin composed this song. I knew I was a fan of his songs, but I am no certain that I like his music work too.

Rotana has made nice with Wael Kfoury and they are about to release his new album next week. This is his first in more than four years. The romantic Lebanese singer did not mind the wait, he seemed not to really car much for new albums--he was still busy with concerts and tennis.

But finally the money is here, and we get to hear the first new song on his album, it's a romance for sure and its his genre. The interest has embraced the album and went crazy about the thought of a new Wael Kfoury album. I know the ladies are his biggest fans.

There's a whole new look for the handsome romance wonder, he is going for the beard. Something of a conquistador look with bling, and a thick hair. I think a lot has changed in those four years, and some young people might have missed the Wael boat, not sure how the timing of the release, a week prior to the end of Ramadan would play out.

The Songs That Made Elissa's Career

This was not her first hit neither was it her first song. Before this track Elissa has been making music video for at least three years. Then came this song and everyone was thinking the same thing, When did Elissa learn how to do all this? In her music video Ayshalak--which she filmed in Paris, she manged to put sext back in style and look so good.

The way the music video was shot was bold at the time, with those extreme closeups and various shots glued together to make a hit song. I remember watching this clip on a laptop in the back of a minivan as we were headed to California for Thanksgiving vacation. The Croatians in the van were in love with it and so was my Omani friend. Before Aushalalk, Elisssa was coming from a fresh feud with Ragheb Alamah who has sang with her in duet and then spoke ill of her--it's a messy business.

This music video made is possible form Elissa to gain bigger stardom, and die hard fans who would drive her to fame and fortune. She was a stand alone super star who was a treat in each one of the concerts across Arabia. She has manged to tell all her critics, I'm right and I have followed my intuition. And as for Elissa, she has found her voice and the skin she can wear best....romance and love all the way to cheese town.

Mohamed Khairy "Youm Matbelna" Amr Diab Cover

Amr Diab is more than a pop singer, his songs helped defines a new generation of singers. He is the guy that each of those 20 something singers grew up listening to and now they are out doing covers of his songs.

No one bad mouths him and manages to have a sustainable career in the music business. He is the guy most idolize and respect. We can have opinions about his later work--when he switched to Rotana, but anything before then was nothing short of awesome.

A young pop sensation that goes by the name Mohammed Khairy has just released a cover of one of Amr Diab's songs. I am a fan of young Khairy and his very sweet boy voice where you are drawn in right away. I did not like the original song, but somehow, I am now prompted to give it another listen.
